The 38th conference of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) took place in beautiful Cascais, Portugal, at the beginning of September. Under the motto “Health Psychology for a Sustainable Future”, the event offered a wealth of exciting panel discussions, presentations and poster sessions.
We were also actively involved and presented our current research projects while discussing the latest developments with international experts. Prof. Simone Dohle moderated an exciting session on the topic of risk perception and communication. Dr. Julia Meis-Harris presented our “Food For Future” project and also took part in a roundtable on how health psychologists can get involved in local sustainability projects. Dr. Qëndresa Rramani-Dervishi presented her research project on nutrition and environmental labels. Alice Seffen gave a talk on self-control strategies for reducing meat consumption and Rebecca Blase presented her research on cancer prevention and smoking cessation.
We return with new ideas and boosted motivation and are already looking forward to the next EHPS conference in Groningen in 2025.
