Organisation & Governance
The governance structure of the Neuro-aCSis program consists of two bodies in particular. The central body is the Executive Board. It is supported by a Scientific Advisory Board.
The Executive Board is responsible for the scientific structure and outline of the program. It also oversees the financial plan and establishes measures for evaluation and quality control. Together with the BONFOR Commission it is responsible for the selection process. The Executive Board is formed by the program spokespersons and professors of the Medical Faculty. In addition, the funded CS elect one additional member from their circle each year.
The Scientific Advisory Board consists of renowned scientists from collaborating institutions who are particularly distinguished by their personal Clinician Scientist background. The members participate in the evaluation of the program and the interim and final evaluation of the funded CS.
The central point of contact for the CS in all administrative matters is the Coordination Office for Internal Funding of the Medical Faculty. For scientific and clinical advice, each CS is assigned two mentors from clinical and research backgrounds. These can be determined by the CS themselves or selected by the Executive Board.
In the event of conflict situations, Prof. Dr. Tilmann Sauerbruch is available to the CS as an ombudsperson.
