International Affairs
Nowadays, success in the life sciences is decisively determined by international networking activities. In recent years, the Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn has undertaken targeted strategic and operational measures to promote such activities in order to position itself even better in the increasing global competition for students, researchers, teaching staff and research funding.
We expect international collaborations and the resulting knowledge transfer to strengthen our own scientific quality.

Information of the University
The Department 6 - International Affairs of the University of Bonn provides on its pages comprehensive information on study and internship abroad as well as on the Erasmus program. Interested parties can also find out about the funding options available to students and doctoral candidates at the University of Bonn. In particular, the following topics are addressed:
- Realization of a study or study-related internship abroad
- Coordination of the exchange and scholarship programs Erasmus, Direct Exchange and PROMOS
Master's Programs
In addition to the ERASMUS program, the establishment of new international master's programs and graduate schools is an important means of recruiting outstanding students in the medical field. These training programs are mostly characterized by one of the research foci of our faculty and the high expertise of its members.

Doctoral Programs
In addition to the international Master's programs, a number of International doctoral programs and graduate schools have been established. The Bonn International Graduate Schools (BIGS) deserve special mention:
- BIGS Drug Sciences
- BIGS Neuroscience
- BIGS Immunosciences and Infection
- BIGS Clinical and Population Science
The faculty is also particularly proud of the DFG-funded IRTG 2168 Bonn & Melbourne Research and Graduate School and the International Max Planck Research School for Brain and Behaviour.
Collaborations
Collaborations with other universities, especially outside of Germany, have become increasingly important in recent years. The Medical Faculty is therefore particularly proud of its long-standing cooperation with its university partners in Europe and on other continents.
Close links with non-university research institutions are also an integral part of Bonn's research strategy. Therefore, intensive research cooperations with institutes from the Helmholtz, Max Planck and Fraunhofer societies have been strengthened over a long time.
